Two relatives of the fly agaric are called the 'death cap', and the 'destroying angel'. They kill people. The fly agaric is less poisonous, but still dangerous.
Fly agaric contains a chemical called alpha-amino3-hydroxy-5-isoxazole acetic acid. This induces a distortion in perception of time and space, and is thought by some to have given additional literary inspiration to the already imaginative Lewis Carroll.
