Suffolk, England, 2005
We visited Flatford Mill in November, with the temperature hovering just above freezing. It was sleeting intermittently, with a strong wind which had travelled across Siberia and Scandinavia, and had picked up water as it crossed the North Sea. Curiously, there was nobody else about, and even my wife and dog retreated swiftly back to the car.
These buildings can be seen in several works by the great landscape artist John Constable.
