Cuckoo Pint (Arum maculatum)
Hertfordshire, England, 1983

Cuckoo pint has a variety of common names, including lords and ladies, Jack-in-the-pulpit, and starchwort. It was used for stiffening Elizabethan ruffs.

Although it contains the toxic calcium oxalate, it is included as an ingredient in a brand of toothpaste.
